| Emily
was first introduced to yoga as a child. It wasn’t
until after the birth of her daughter in 2003,
however, that her yoga practice became a fundamental
way of life for Emily, helping her to overcome
many personal struggles including panic disorder.
Although it was natural childbirth
that was the catalyst for change, teaching her
to value her body, it was through her dedicated
asana practice that Emily was able to act upon
this revelation, ultimately leading to her spiritual
and emotional growth and the alleviation of psychic
and physical pain.
In 2005 Emily received her 200-hour
teacher training at Joyful Yoga under the mentorship
of her inspirational sister, Jackie Chiodo. Emily
lovingly teaches within the Joyful Yoga framework.
Her hope is that her own dedication and passion
for yoga is transferred through her teaching style
and her ultimate goal is to offer instruction
of yoga that is accessible to people of all physical
capabilities.
“Everyone can benefit from
yoga. The benefits may range from a simple healing
of a physical ailment to a degree in which one’s
life is transformed and enlightened. Either way,
every person should be given the opportunity to
let yoga enrich his or her life experience.”
