What is Ayurveda?

Ayurveda means "knowledge of life". It is the 5000 year old holistic sister science to yoga. This science is based on the five elements (air/space, fire, water and earth) which translate to movement, metabolism, and structure in the physiology. Whether or not those elements are out of balance will determine health or disease.

Digestion is known to be the root of all disease, according to Ayurveda, so one of the first steps taken toward overall health is improving digestion so detoxification can be increased.

Our Ayurvedic Practitioner, Jackie Chiodo, will guide you toward the best food choices, lifestyle routines, breath work, and yoga practices which will assist you in moving towards improved health.


How can I benefit from Ayurveda?

Your Ayurvedic Consultation will provide insight as to why your body and mind work the way they do and you will leave the session with recommendations of herbs, food choices and cleansing routines based on your mind/body constitution or dominant "dosha" - Vata, Pitta or Kapha (air/space, fire or earth/water).

What you are ingesting through all five senses determines what your body and mind receive as nourishing or toxic, including taste, smells, sights, sounds, etc. Simple changes in your daily routine can make a huge difference in your life and health in just a short period of time.
